ciation of Music Men, composed of music pub-
lishers and dealers in the metropolitan area,
will be held on Saturday, June 29, at the Elks

Arrangements have been made to have mem-

ing and other sports for which prizes will be

M. K. Jerome, well-known song writer, has
left for the Pacific Coast to join the Western
professional staff of M. Witmark & Sons, New
York, on the Warner Bros, lot in Hollywood.
Mr. Jerome replaces Norman Spencer, who has
been collaborating with Herman Ruby and who
has now been transferred to another depart-
ment. Before leaving for the Coast, Mr. Jer-
ome contributed "You and I in the Moonlight,"
a promising fox-trot, to the Witmark catalog.

has been published by M. Witmark & Sons,
New York. Miss Etting, who came into fame
through her singing and dancing, is now attract-

addition to placing her song with the Witmark
firm, she recently contributed a series of arti-

From Phenomenal Trip
"TWO WEEKS OFF"

and JACK MULHALL
Bernard Prager, sales manager of the Rob-
bins Music Corp., New York, returned recently
from a short visit to Chicago and Detroit,
which he states was the most phenomenal trip
in point of sales since he has been with the
company. "The Chicago jobbers can't seem
to get enough copies of 'Broadway Melody,'
'You Were Meant for Me' and 'Pagan Love
Song,' " said Mr. Prager this week. "In spite
of large orders taken in the field on these
songs, I found telegrams for additional' lots of
1,000 to 2,000 copies on my return. The Rob-
bins catalog has more popular hits than in any
period in its history with 'If I Had You' still
selling well. 'The One in the World,' also a
Campbell-Connelly song, has begun to take on
and will unquestionably be a real successor to
'If I Had You.'"

Saul Bornstein, general manager of Irving
Berlin, Inc., New York, returned recently from
a short trip to California in the interests of the
firm's tie-ups with future photoplay produc-
tions. The Berlin firm has had many valuable
theme songs this season, including "Marie"
from "The Awakening," "Coquette" from the film
of the same title, "Where Is the Song of Songs
For Me?" from "Lady of the Pavements,"
"Heart of Mine" from "Noah's Ark" and many
others. Mr. Bornstein indicated that prospects
for many valuable new connections are on the
horizon.
