**T ONELY Little Cinderella," a new melody
fox-trot, composed by Emerson Gill,
leader of the Bamboo Garden orchestra of
Cleveland, O., has just been released by Will
Von Tilzer, head of the Broadway Music Corp.,
New York. Mr. Von Tilzer was won over to
the number on first hearing and is confident
that he has a natural hit. The song was played
from manuscript by the Cleveland orchestra
for a short period prior to its publication with
great success, and a big demand has already
developed in the Middle West.
New Witmark Numbers
"You and I in the Moonlight," with a lyric
by Ned Washington and music by M. K.
Jerome, is one of the new popular releases of
M. Witmark & Sons, New York, that is rapidly
forging ahead. The number is a fox-trot ballad
and has a melody that is very appealing—one
that can be classified as "different." Another
new Witmark number that is coming ahead is
"Maybe, Who Knows?" by Joe Tucker, Johnny
Schuster and Ruth Etting, "Whoopee" star.
This song, produced by the team responsible for
another big Witmark hit now current, "Dance
of the Paper Dolls," and a talented Ziegfeld
beauty, is rapidly winning favor with vaudeville
and broadcasting stars.

Professionals from the vaudeville and radio
fields are again coming to the Broadway offices
to rehearse "Lonely Little Cinderella" and Mr.
Von Tilzer is reminded of the days about two
years ago, when he released "Muddy Waters."
The new song, while distinctly different from
the latter, possesses an individuality and charm
that should carry it just as far, Mr. Von Tilzer
believes. He has worked out an extensive cam-
paign on this song and already jobbers are
reporting big demands for it.
