CHICAGO, I I I . , February 27.—According to re-
ports from the headquarters of the Everett
Piano Co., Grand Haven, Mich., the sales of
Rrands made by that company during the first
two months of this year have been of a highly
satisfactory character, and serve to emphasize
the appeal of the company's attractive line of
period model grands to both the trade and pub-
lic. The dealers particularly have enthused re-
garding the qualities of the product, and as a
result have been presenting it to prospective
purchasers energetically and with excellent re-
sults from the standpoint of sales.
The Everett Co. has launched an extensive
campaign of national advertising, using some
of the leading magazines of the country, and
in the copy is stressing both the beauty and
quality of the Everett piano. A large amount
of effective material has been prepared for the
use of dealers in tying up with this national
campaign, and there have also been developed
a number of effective sales helps.
The excellent financial resources of the com-
pany, of which the trade generally is aware, has
made possible both a production and a distribut-
ing program of wide scope. The result has
been a national presentation of the Everett line
on a basis calculated to be quickly effective.
John H. Parnham, president of the Everett
Co., has been on an extended trip through the

Excellent Aid to Sales
Cyril Farny, vice-president and general man-
ager of the Wurlitzer Grand Piano Co., of De-
Kalb, 111., reports an increased demand for
Wurlitzer grand pianos and the Wurlitzer
Treasure Chest of Music, the electric reproduc-
ing grand.
"Dealer orders came with a rush the last
week in February," he said. "Much activity on
the Treasure Chest of Music is reported by our
dealers at Salt Lake City, Utah; Freeport, 111.;
Hartford, Conn.; and Akron, O. Our dealers
at Akron, O., the A. B. Smith Piano Co., have
averaged the sale of one electric grand per
week since January first. These splendid re-
sults at Akron are due largely to the efforts
of Alden B. Smith, Jr., and Hugh Ketterman,
manager of the grand department of this well-
known piano firm."

A new and very important service to Gul-
bransen dealers is offered by the Gulbransen
Co. in the form of an organized window display
service. It is an attempt to assist the dealer
in a practical way to get the most out of his
window.
The material for the displays, which will be
prepared each month, will come to the mer-
chant all ready to put in the window. All that
will be necessary is to follow a photographic
proof and arrange the display in the window
accordingly. This service includes all the mate-
rial for display, something new each month;
photograph of the new window display for the
guidance of the dealer; window display mate-
rial at a reduced cost with a maximum of con-
venience to the dealer; the advantage of expert
window display service worked out by men
who have had years of training in this work;
window display information and counsel cover-
ing every phase of the subject.
In inaugurating this service the company
states that it has been definitely proved that
attractive window displays will sell pianos and
that properly dressed windows have proved
more effective salesmen than any other store
publicity. In many cities the right sort of win-
dow display, it is said, can be made to produce
an extra piano sale per week.
The first presentation of the new Gulbransen
plan was made at the regional sales meeting of
Gulbransen dealers held at the factory last
month. At that time an actual show window
was built in the company's salesroom, featur-
ing two Gulbransen instruments in a simple
but effective setting. This proved to be one of
the most interesting points in connection with
the dealers' meeting. An unusual amount of in-
terest has also been aroused in connection with
the Gulbransen February salon with the results
that have been attained through the display of
Gulbransen instruments in effective decorative
schemes.
