LOGIC!
REATIVE ideas, clear vision
and good judgment are neces-
sary requisites to the success of any
business — large or small. In this
precept we have something which
should serve to remind all music
dealers of the imperative need of
mature thought in the matter of
their buying policy.
Today retail merchants are faced
not only with the competition of
other retailers, but in many cases
with that of the very wholesalers
and manufacturers from whom they
buy. Therein lies a "structural" weak-
ness, invidious in its character, that
calls for reflection.
Independent music dealers every-
where should give heed to the dis-
advantages suffered by them as a
result of this trying competition.
They should familiarize themselves
with the selling policy of the whole-
salers and manufacturers who solicit
their business.
Co-operation and consideration, lib-
eral yet reasonable, should be de-
manded by every retailer from his
supplier. To ask and receive less
would be to compromise his rightful
position.
Think it over!
