A group of fifteen songs by the late Ernest R.
Ball are being issued in album form by M. Wit-
mark & Sons, New York, and will be ready for
titles are as follows: "Love Me and the World
Is Mine," "Good-bye, Good Luck, God Bless
You," "Will You Love Me in December as You
Do in May?" "Turn Back the Universe and
Give Me Yesterday," "A Little Bit of Heaven.

Faded Away," "As Long as the World Rolls
On," "When the Birds in Georgia Sing of Ten-
nessee," "Ireland is Ireland to Me," "When

Winding Road of Dreams," "My Sunshine
Jane," "You Planted a Rose in the Garden, of
Love," and "Out There in the Sunshine With
You."

New Musical Production of Which DeSylva,
Brown & Henderson Issues Score, Makes Hit
on Road
release shortly. So great has been the popular in-
terest in the ballads of this composer, whose re-
cent death evoked expressions of sorrow through
the country, that the Witmark house, which was
associated with him as publisher for upward of
a quarter of a century, decided to offer a collec-
tion of some of his best-known songs in a popu-
lar-priced edition. The album pieces will be
sheet music size, printed, in fact, from the origi-
nal plates.
The collection is remarkable in that prac-
tically every number will be remembered by
the trade as a song that made its mark. The
An unusual experience is that of DeSylva,
Brown & Henderson, New York, publishers of
the score of the musical comedy, "Good News,"
who have already begun to feel a hit demand
for at least half a dozen numbers from the show,
before the production has had its New York
premiere. "Good News" was produced in the
Apollo Theatre, Atlantic City, the first week in
August, and is now playing in Philadelphia, be-
ing scheduled to open in New York on Labor
Day. Three days following the premiere, tele-
grams ordering large lots of "Good News," the
title song, "The Varsity Drag," "Happy Days,"
"Lucky in Love" and "The Best Things in
Life," have been coming in from practically
every sheet music department in Atlantic City
and Philadelphia. There is at least an explana-
tion, when one considers that the music is the
work of B. G. DeSylva, Lew Brown and Ray
Henderson, writers of "Black Bottom," "The
Birth of the Blues," and other hits from last
season's "Scandals." This, combined with the
talent in the show, including George Olsen and
His Music, who climb upon the stage for minor
but interesting roles, has been a big success.
