Entire Business and Lines to be Brought from
North Tonawanda to New York City
L. A. Elkington manufacturer of musical in-
strument accessories, 220 East Thirty-fourth
street, New York, announced this week that he
had purchased the fife business, including both
manufacturing and sales, of the Rudolph Wur-
lit/.er Co., North Tonawanda, N. Y. The com-
plete equipment for manufacturing the well-
known brand of U. S., H. K., American Star,
Silvertone, Clark's London, and Model fifes and
flageolets, have been transferred to the Elking-
ton plant in New York.
In announcing the transaction to the trade
Mr. Elkington stated:
"We will shortly be in a position to offer this
complete line to the trade with the addition of
several novelty numbers. We will have one of
the largest and most complete fife lines made.
"In order to take care of this business we
have leased the entire floor of the adjoining
building which will be accessible by means of
doorways cut through the wall of our present
plant. We have already added five more power
presses and automatic screw machines."
After closing this deal with the Wurlitzer
Co., Mr. Elkington immediately engaged one of
the best fife makers in the country who will
have complete charge of the business. The fifes
and flageolets will be distributed as Elton prod-
ucts, but each will also bear its former trade
mark.
