description including vaudeville, radio, dance
floors, etc. What is more inviting is the fact
that several of these numbers have, through this
wide publicity, won unusual high sales totals.
Therefore, a number such as "Ragging the
Scale" should, under the plans inaugurated by
the Broadway Music Corp., win new popularity
and be again a profitable number of the Broad-
way catalog.
GOOD
REASONS
Dan Winkler Plans An
Active Selling Campaign
Dealers push "CENTURY EDITION"
because it is Nationally Advertised.
BECAUSE it represents the best value
in sheet music today.
BECAUSE he is protected against loss
through exchange. Copy for copy.
BECAUSE of the 150% profit he makes.
Pretty good reasons at that, don't you
think?

"Ragging the Scale"
Returns to Popularity
Broadway Music Co. Arranges to Reissue That
Number in Response to Strong Demands—
Featured by Many Professionals
The old piano classic "Ragging the Scale" has,
during the past two months, been revived in
popularity by a number of professionals in vau-
deville and musicians over the radio. The re-
sult has been that the Broadway Music Corp.,
New York, owners of the copyright of "Ragging
the Scale" have decided to reissue this number
in a new dress and arrange a campaign of fur-
thering the present interest.
In recent years piano novelties, particularly of
Dan Winkler
the semi-popular order, have had wide popu- for a series of co-operative moves mostly with
larity as solo numbers in programs of every trade hook-up features for the exploitation of
the firm's catalog. The songs "It All Depends
On You," "I Wonder, I Wonder, I Wonder
How I Look When I'm Asleep" and "So Blue,"
as well as several other new issues, are being
included in the present arrangements.

The details of the English arrangement whereby
Keith Prowse & Co. sponsor a Sam Fox Pub-
lications, Ltd., for the purpose of exploiting the
Fox issues in Great Britain and other territory
exclusive of Australia and New Zealand, were
announced some time ago. It is understood that
very similar arrangements were made for
France, Germany and Austria and doubtless an-
nouncement by the Fox organization to that
effect will be made shortly.
New Publishing House
A new entry into the field of music publishers
is that of Alexander-Mueller Publishing Co., of
Baltimore, Md. The firm is exploiting Perry
Alexander's ballad "Mother Dear," which in
waltz form has already made an impression
Other songs in this same catalog are "Two Rig
Blue Eyes," and a novelty fox-trot, "Just A
Little Cutie."
