able comment from the trade in all parts of
the country. In addition the House of Witmark
lias been the recipient of numerous con-
gratulatory messages from musicians and
members of the publishing fraternity. Without
doubt this high quality album selling at such
a remarkably low price, considering the high
standing of the material, establishes a precedent
that will not be rivaled in a generation.
Embodied in the album appears material that
will reawaken the interest of music lovers who
are familiar with these songs of a past decade.
In addition, the ever-growing number of Victor
Herbert admirers and enthusiasts will have at
hand in a compact and easily used form a
group of Victor Herbert melodies that will be
eagerly purchased. The songs include "Toy-
land," from "Babes in Toyland"; "My Lady,
'Tis of Thee," from "Babette"; "When Shall I
Again See Ireland?" from "Eileen"; "Knot
of Blue," from "It Happened in Nord-
land"; "A Woman Is Only a Woman,"
from "Miss Dolly Dollars"; "I Want What I
Want When I Want It," from "Mile. Modiste";
" 'Neath the Southern Moon," from "Naughty
Marietta"; "Love Is the Best of All," from
"Princess Pat"; "Cupid Will Guide," from "The
Ameer"; "Come Little Fishes," from "The En-
chantress"; "Always Do as People Say You
Should," from "The Fortune Teller"; "When
You're Away," from "The Only Girl"; "Because
You're You," from "The Red Mill"; "Live and
Love," from "The Velvet Lady," and "The
Only One," from "Wonderland."
The Victor Herbert album is further en-
hanced with an autographed reproduction of
a photograph of the composer. The decora-
tion is in red and black on India stock and
is unusually attractive, making itself readily
available for window and counter display. In-
,-ide the front cover is a brief biography of
the composer, which will be an added prize
for his many admirers.
The sales department of M. Witmark & Sons
has in a short time since the announcement
of this Victor Herbert album been swamped
with telegraphic orders and every mail sees
these added to substantially. There is no ques-
tion but what the sales of this compilation will
be tremendous. The co-operation of the trade
has already indicated 100 per cent so the sales
