Instrument
BOSTON, August 16.—The George Marsh Co., one
of the largest department stores in New Eng-
land, recently devoted one of its large windows
on Washington street to a display of Vega ban-
jos, made by the Vega Co., 155 Columbus
avenue, this city. The display, which it is esti-
mated over 100,000 persons saw, featured the
Vegaphone banjo which was especially made
for Brook Johns, the celebrated musical comedy
artist, and which he played before President
Coolidge and the Prince of Wales.
The Brook Johns Vegaphone is heavily in-
ljiid with rhinestones and a special lighting
effect in the window brought out the full bril-
liance of the beautiful finish. Before its visit
to the George Marsh store the instrument was
on display at the store of Charles W. Homeyer
Co., on Boylston street and also at the Jerome
H. Remick Store on Tremont street.
