The new managers, Anna May Olmstead and
Ray C. Olmstead, have recently been Conn
dealers for Mendocino and Lake Counties,
where they earned the reputation of being
among the most successful in the Conn organi-
zation.
Previous to entering the instrument business
Mr. and Mrs. Olmstead had years of experience
in both private and public school work, as well
as in pipe organ and orchestra work for
churches and theatres. The past two years they
have specialized in family and juvenile orches-
tras and their Lake County juveniles, aged six
to ten, playing classical music as well as all
the latest song hits, have been in big demand
throughout the northern part of the State.
While they, will have little time for teaching
here, Mr. and Mrs. Olmstead are now organiz-
ing juvenile orchestras to keep the little folks
busy during the Summer.
Holton-Elkhorn Band
Giving Concert Series
Band Made Up of Employes of Frank Holton
& Co. to Play Each Wednesday Evening Dur-
ing Summer Season
ELKHORN, WIS., July 12.—The annual series of
concerts given by the Holton-Elkhorn band be-
gan last week in Elkhorn Park and will continue
on Wednesday evenings through the Summer.
The band is again conducted by H. J. Charlton,
general manager of Frank Holton & Co., manu-
facturer of Holton band instruments, and prac-
tically the entire membership of the band is
made up of employes of the Holton factory.
These concerts are contributed by the city
and citizens of Elkhorn. Mr. Charlton has pre-
pared an interesting series of programs and he
also arranges for the publishing of the programs
which are distributed at each concert. The
program notes which he has written are both
interesting and educational and add much to
the value of the concerts.
More Musical Burglars
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, July 12.—Burglars stole
three banjos and a portable phonograph from
the store of the Consolidated Music Co. here
last week. They forced a rear door of the store
and failed in an attempt to blow the safe,
after which they made away with the instru-
ments. Two of the banjos were recovered.
