Numbers Include Part Songs for Men's and
Women's Voices and Collection of Anthems
The Oliver Ditson Co. has issued several com-
pilations of octavo numbers, especially selected
works for particular purposes and, despite the
unusual amount of material, published to retail
at a popular price. They include "Twelve Pop-
ular Part Songs for Men's Voices"; these are
for use of quartets and choruses with such num-
bers as "Dreaming Alone in the Twilight,"
"Sweet Genevieve," "Sweet and Low," "Carry
Me Back to Old Virginny," and numbers of like
caliber.
There is also "Ten Three Part Songs for
Women's Voices," with piano accompaniment.
The selections were made by Louise Woodbury
and among them are "It's Merry, Merry May,"
"Hark, Hark the Lark" and "Drink to Me Only
With Thine Eyes."
In addition there is "Ten Anthems by Ten
Composers." This is issued for general use and
includes "The Lord is My Strength," "Be-
loved, Let Us Love One Another," and other
numbers.
many years he served as conductor of the lead-
ing orchestral organizations throughout tin
country.
Mr. Rothapfel was guided in the purchase
partly by sentimental reasons and also by tIn-
completeness of the library which will form an
invaluable nucleus for the new Roxy Theatre.
