Known in Musical Circles in City and Vicin-

OLINTON, I A., May 4.—Announcement of the or-
ganization of the Booth-Paddock Music Co.
has attracted a great deal of interest in local
musical circles. The company, recently formed,
is now located at 112 North Second street, where
it will conduct a general business in band in-
struments.
H. L. Booth for three years acted as director
of the Nash Motor Factory band and is at
present director of bands at Fulton, Thomson
and Milledgeville. D. M. Paddock was formerly
connected with Flindt's 126 Field Artillery
band where he acted as flute and piccolo solo-
ist. J. D. Paddock, the other partner, is head
of the Orpheum Theatre Orchestra and is
known as a clarinet soloist. He has also been
connected with the Flindt Orchestra and ap-
peared on the Redpath circuit.

bands and will have charge of the All High
School Band of one hundred and fifty pieces
and Eugene Weigel will direct the Junior High
Orchestra of one hundred and eighty pieces,
while Miss Helen M. Hannen will lead the ele-
mentary orchestra of six hundred children for
the fifth and sixth grades. The object of the
demonstration is to show the Cleveland public
what the schools are doing to advance the
cause of instrumental music.

ALTOONA, PA., May 4.—Joseph W. Nicomede, of
the Nicomede Music Co., publishers, reports
that sales of Art Horn's Saxophone Method are
daily increasing. Dealers have derived good
profits from this popular method, he reports.
Lloyd Loar's new instruction book for the
ukulele, ukulele-banjo, tenor-banjo (ukulele
tuning) will be out this month and promises a
record sale and is awaited with interest as new
material is promised.
The Morris method for tenor-banjo continues
to be the leading seller on the market, accord-
ing to Mr. Nicomede, and the wonder cleaner

onstration" in the Public Hall, May 9, will be

Opens New Store
DALLAS, TEX., May 2.—The Dallas Band House,
1925 Main street, has opened a new store at
San Antonio known as the San Antonio Branch
of the Dallas Band House. This store will
take care of the sale of King band instruments
in western Texas and the Rio Grande Valley
section. King instruments are made by the H.
N. White Co., Cleveland, O.
Opens New Music Section
MAQUOKETA, IA., May 4.—A new music depart-
ment has been established in the Lee Dry
Goods Co.'s store, handling pianos, phono-
graphs and musical accessories. The store has
been recently remodeled to provide suitable
quarters for the musical department, and a
formal opening will be held in the near future.
The Schmidt orchestra, of Davenport, will be
provided by the Schmidt Music Co. of that
city for that occasion.
