"Hula Lou" Achieves
Remarkably Quick Success
New Ager, Yellen & Bornstein Number Wins
Success More Rapidly Than Any Other Ever
Issued by That House
Jack Yellen, of the firm of Ager, Yellen &
Jiornstein, Inc., recently returned from a most
successful professional trip covering Buffalo,
Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus, Chicago, Milwau-
kee and many other Western points. While
away he introduced to many vaudeville perform-
ers the new success "Hula Lou." This number,
recently accepted for publication and quickly
issued, has achieved more rapid prominence
than any number ever added to the above firm's
catalog. It is bigger now than such numbers
as "Lovin' Sam," "Louisville Lou," "Mamma
Goes Where Papa Goes," or any of its other
novelties of the same period.

in the best musical comedy taste." The show
has several good songs and much dance music.

Wade's Moulin Rouge
Orchestra's First Record
Melrose Bros. Hits, "Someday Sweetheart" and
"Mobile Blues," Recorded by Wade's Moulin
Rouge Syncopators on Their First Record
CHICAGO, I I I . , January 31.—The novel and
unique Wade's Moulin Rouge Syncopators, who
have entertained thousands of dancers at Mou-
lin Rouge in Chicago, will be heard throughout
the country shortly, as this orchestra has just
made its first record for Paramount, using the
hits of the Melrose Bros. Music Co., "Someday
Sweetheart" and "Mobile Blues." These tw r o
numbers are among the most popular in the
catalog of "The House of Blues," as this com-
pany is called, because of its large list of "blues"
numbers, and the entertaining syncopations of
this orchestra should become very popular on
records. "Someday Sweetheart" was written by
the composer of the well-known hits, "Wolver-
ine Blues" and "Mobile Blues," Albert E. Short,
musical director of Balaban & Katz.

Goes With "Runnin' Wild'
Josie Miles, who records exclusively for the
Gennett' records, has just signed a contract to
appear with George White's new show, "Runnin'
Wild." She will do a specialty in the show
and will feature a new song published by Joe
Davis Music Co., 1658 Broadway, New York,
entitled "Thirty-first Street Blues," written by
Wendall Hall. Miss Miles was formerly with
"Shuffle Along," and during the run of that hit
scored a big success as a singer of "Blues" num-
bers, etc.
