NEW CENTURY SAXOPHONE NUMBERS
First Demand Leads to Ten Additional Com­
positions Being Added to Series

NEW PONCE NUMBER GOES WELL
The , Century Music Publishing Co . recently
issued a series of saxophone numbers, each
number containing E flat aito, E flat tenor and
C melody parts. These are full sheet music size
and some are playable as duets, The demand
for this series was so heavy following the first
releases that the publisher decid ed to add ten
additional numbers to the list. The first of
such saxophone publications included "La Po­
lorna," "Song of India," "Orientale," "The
Swan," "Elegie," "0 Sole Mio," "Angel's
Serenade," "Souvenir," "Traumerei" and "Seren­
ade." The new saxophone and piano numbers
include the following: "Flower Song," "Spring
Song," "Humoresque," "Serenade," "Good-bye,"
"Melody in F," "Berceuse," "Simple Aveau,"
"Evening Star" and "When You and I Were
Young, Maggie."
LOPEZ TO BROADCAST FROM WEAF
Arrangements have been completed whereby
Vincent Lopez and His Hotel Pennsylvania
Orchestra will ' broadcast Thursday and Satur­
day nights of each week through station WEAF
from the Hotel Pennsylvania Grill. Lopez will
have access to the air for one hour starting at
11 o'clock and will personally announce the
selections render ed, The orchestra formerly
broadcasted through WJZ, but discontinued
owing to the controversy between that station
and the Society of Authors, Composers and
Publishers,
The new philo sophical son g, "Rub Off Your
Wrinkles '\lith a Smile," publish ed by the Phil
Ponce Pilblicati o ns , carrl es,as its title suggests,
an optimi s tic lyric whi ch appeal s to the average
mind, wheth er or not the individual's a ction s
are suited to the words. In a ddition , this par­
ti cular song has a nother m e rit and that is it
proves quit e popular as a fox-trot. Insubstan­
tiation of this the following leadin g orchestras
a re rendering it almost nightly: the Benton
Orchestra, Ray Miller's Orchestra, Coon-Saun­
ders and others.
NEW CHRISTMAS SONG BOOK
BUFFALO, N. Y., October 26.- The Rev. Adolf
T. Hanser, of this city, re cently compiled and

ORCHESTRA LEADERS HOLD MEETING
The A merican Soci e ty of Orchestra Leaders
recently met at the H otel Astor and continued
steps toward s the formation of a pe rmanent
or ganization.
MUSIC MEN ASSOCIATION MEETS
The Association of Music Men, the organiza­
tion composed of music salesmen the majority
of whom are connected with the leading stand­
ard publishing houses of New York City, held
its monthly meeting and dinner on Thursday
evening of last week at the Hotel Richmond,
70 West Forty-sixth street, New York City.
Plans for the formation of an orchestra of close
to thirty pieces are now announced as being well
under way. Rehearsals of the members of this
!lew musical combination are to be held fre­
quently between now and the holidays.

national advertising campaign, announces its
Spring advertising plans, using the same na­
tional publications in which its advertisements
appeared during the Fall season. The publicity
