A Phenomenal Record!
Replacement Installation at the H. C. Bay Piano
Plant—Completed and in Operation in 60 Days
by The GRAND RAPIDS V A P O R
The above picture of the H. C. Bay Piano plant at
Bluffton, Ind., shows the initial stages of new kiln con-
struction after a fire which destroyed the former battery.
Within three days after the plant burned down the Grand
Rapids Vapor Kiln had closed a contract for eight new
fireproof kilns replacing the mixed battery of six kilns
which had not been built by the Grand Rapids Vapor
Kiln, and in which the fire originated.
Two of the new kilns were completed and running in
exactly 60 days from the date of the fire—a phenomenal
record for clearing away, rebuilding and installing.

From all over the United States come reports of excep-
tional Grand Rapids Vapor Kiln service—not only ef-
ficient operation of the kilns, in the proper curing of
lumber for exacting specifications, but efficiency rendered
by the Grand Rapids Kiln corps of engineers as well.
We maintain a laboratory service for the benefit of the
woodworking industry. It is highly specialized and
properly equipped to render to you exactly what infor-
mation you require in the drying of lumber. Technical
bulletins covering practically every phase of the wood-
working industry are yours upon request, and our engi-
neers will discuss your problems with you without the
slightest obligation on your part.
