The United States Section of the Interna-
tional Society for Contemporary Music has just
been founded in New York and has been incor-
porated. The incorporators are Eva Gauthier,
Lewis M. Isaacs, Oscar G. Sonneck, William 11.
Tuthill and Emerson Whithorne, all of New
York. The directors-are these, with J. Alden
Carpenter, Chalmers Clifton, Carl Engel, Ed-
ward I'urlingame Hill, Mrs. Arthur M. Reis and
Albert Stoessel. The officers elected by this
board were Oscar G. Sonneck, president; John
Alden Carpenter, first vice-president; Lewis M.
Isaacs, second vice-president; William Burnet
Tuthill, secretary and treasurer. The members
of the committee were Lawrence Gilman, Rich-
ard Hammond, Frederick Jacobi, Paul Rosen-
feld, La/are Satiiinsky and Albert Stoessel. The
duty of this committee was the selection of the
compositions that are to be submitted for con-
sideration to the International Selection Com-
