BOSTON, MASS., July 8.—One of the windows of
the Oliver Ditson Co.'s Tremont street store
has had a special display this week in honor of
the visiting teachers here for the National Educa-
tion Association Convention, in which music has
had an important part. O.i a conspicuous pla-
card in the middle of the window one reads: "Dit-
son's publications of direct interest to every music
supervisor, normal school and educator," and
the teacher-visitors were invited to visit the store
and inspect such lines as were most likely to
interest them. Grouped about the window were
many musical text-books especially pertinent to
p.ano and violin courses and volumes relating to
conduct.ng and much sheet music. The win-
dow has attracted much deserved attention.

FEATURING NEW COMPOSERS
Boston Publishing House Pushing Songs by Mrs.
Skerritt and Miss Roberts
BOSTON, MASS., July 8.—Charles W. Thompson
& Co., the Park street publishers, are about to
publish the compositions of two new com-
posers in whom Mr. Thompson has great hopes.
They are Rena Barry Skerritt and Miriam Alvin
Roberts. The first-named is represented by
"Gypsy Weather," the words for which were
written by Will Tasker and which is dedicated
to "My Husband, Lover of Woodland Trails,"
and "Nebbah Min,' What Yo' Wish-bone Say?",
for which Mrs. Skerritt also wrote the words.
This is dedicated to and sung by Ruth Thayer
Burnham. Miss Roberts' two songs are "My
Gift," with violin obbligato, and "Home, Love
and You," and for both of these Miss Roberts
also wrote the words. A piano number which the
Thompson house is making a success of is "Valse
Viennoise," by George Smith, which has become
especially popular on the Ampico. Another piano
number, "Allegiance March," is by Ernest P.
Bradstreet.
Mr. Thompson, who lives in Somerville, where
there was a big two hundredth anniversary cele-
bration on the Fourth, was the recipient of con-
siderable praise for the handsome decorations of
his home in School street, in front of which the
procession passed.
