Boston Publisher Issuing New Folios—All
Numbers Proving in Good Demand
BOSTON, MASS., November 6.—Walter Jacobs is
looking for a very busy season. No. 2 of
Jacobs' Piano Folio of six-eight marches has
just been issued. Here are the titles of this
latest folio: "Soul of the Nation," "Fighting
Strength," "The Indomitable," "Iron Trail,"
"Starry Jack," "Cradle of Liberty" and "Excur-
sion Party." The tenth volume of Jacobs'
Banjo Collection also has been put out and all
of these are finding wide favor. A catalog de-
signed especially for young bands which has
nineteen titles is proving popular with youthful
musicians who do not want to commit them-
selves to too difficult music.
F. Scott Stuart, of Foster, Music Publishers,
Inc., was a caller at Walter Jacobs' offices a few
days ago.
NEW A. A._PENN BALLAD
Arthur A. Penn, writer of "Smilin' Through,"
"Sunrise and You" and other successes, has
written a new song entitled "You Know How
Tis." The song was inspired by the oft-re-
peated phrase used by Miss Virginia Valli in
her character of Manette in the photoplay "The
Storm." The number is being published by M.
Witmark & Sons, who will exploit it in con-
junction with the exhibition of the photoplay
of the same name recently released.

appearance in this country following his inter-
national tour. Of particular importance is that
he was in good voice and apparently in robust
health, despite the fact that he only recently
passed through a long siege of sickness. In his
Sunday concert he introduced two new songs,
"Song by the Mill," by Arthur Foote, and "The
Little Trees," by H. O. Osgood.
It is understood that the Victor Talking Ma-
chine Co. will make a special release on Novem-
ber 18 of one of Mr. McCormack's latest records,
"Three o'Clock in the Morning."
FEATURING "PELICAN"
One of the surprise features of Weber and
Fields "Re-United" is the introduction of the
latest Parisian melody success, the "Pelican."
This number is on the order of "L'Amour
de L'Apache," which contains equally cleVer
lyrics in both the English and French version.
It is a fox-trot rhythm and melody. The Ed-
ward B. Marks Music Co. is the publisher.
