Some time ago the Oliver Ditson Co., Bos-
ton, Mass., added a new volume to "The
Musicians' Library." It contains piano com-
positions by Cesar Franck and is issued for the
centenary of his birth. This new edition is
edited and carries an interesting preface by Vin-
cent dTndy.
In introducing this latest volume the publisher
says:
"Cesar Franck, the great genius who gave to
absolute music in France its most enduring
impetus and who founded and vitalized a whole
splendid school of famous composers, did not
neglect the piano, the instrument which received
from Beethoven its cachet of nobility. Franck's
piano compositions are not only of the highest
beauty, but are permanent contributions to the
history of the art in that he invented new forms

undoubtedly a most important accession to
musical biographies."

"KITTEN" PROVING A BIG HIT
According to the statistical department of
Jack Mills, Inc., there are 967 pianists on the
various vaudeville circuits throughout the coun-
try that are featuring the Zez Confrey com-
position, "Kitten on the Keys." The sales de-
partment of the same company states that over
a half million copies of the piano solo and the
simplified vocal version have thus far been sold.
It is thought that the 1922 sales will place it
among the foremost sellers of the year.
