Qodowsky's opinion of the Ampico, as a means of * Re-enacting
thus perpetuating his art, is expressed in the following letter:

my own performance, though not performing?
Although I have gone through this process before,
I must state that no recording of mine on any instru-
ment whatsoever gives me the deep, unalloyed satis-
faction which these recordings on the Ampicodo. They
possess, aside from the quality of flawless repro-
duction, the true to life heart pulsation which
stamps the Ampico absolutely individual and
apart from anything else."
