'T may seem to Milton dealers and their salesmen that
the Milton factory is far removed from the actual battle-
field where the final sale of Milton Pianos is made.
There may be an impression, perhaps, that we, as manufac-
turers, do not attempt to analyze retail selling conditions and
put ourselves in the place of the salesmen who meet the retail
sales resistance, either in the wareroom or out, "pulling door bells."
To the contrary, the position of our dealers and our immense
army of salesmen receives first consideration in our efforts. In
the making of Milton pianos, in the planning of our sales co-
operation, in fact, in every move we make, we first of all answer
the question—"Will it make it easier for the retail salesmen to
sell our instruments?"
The executives of the Milton Piano Company aim first, to be
retail salesmen, second to be manufacturers, and finally, only,
to formulate policies that will prove of benefit to the men on
the firing line.
The quality of Milton pianos has never been assailed. The in-
struments have a reputation. The name'' Milton'' is an immediate
recommendation. The styles have proven themselves popular,
and the prices appeal to at least eighty-five per cent, of piano
buyers.' These facts make retail selling easier.
And we have developed for use this Fall, some interesting,
forceful selling campaigns, built from a dealer's viewpoint, to
meet sales resistance that we know will be active during the
coming season. Copy, presentation, layout and schedule have
all been planned after a careful analysis of business and the
financial condition of the country.
I would personally welcome an inquiry from any dealer or sales-
man regarding the materials we have prepared for their use.
