"NA-JO" IN "APHRODITE"
-
"Love Birds," a new musical comedy, opened
recently at New York's new theatre, The
Apollo. Pat Rooney, the clever comedian, and
charming Marion Bent are the featured stars
of an exceptional cast presenting this musical
offering.
"Love Birds" is the work of Edgar Allen
Wolff, who wrote the book; Ballard MacDonald,
who supplied the lyrics, and Sigmund Romberg,
who composed the score. The latter is also
associated with Max R. Wilner in the produc-
tion.
In addition to Pat Rooney and Marion Bent
the rest of the company is proportionately
clever and includes such well-known figures as
Eva Davenport and Elizabeth Murray.
Mr. Romberg, who composed "Maytime,"
"The Magic Melody" and other successful
scores, has furnished some most delightful music
in this new work.
The outstanding hits appear to be "Two Little
Love Birds," which, by the way, is used as a
theme number and constantly recurs during the
action of the piece; "A Little Dream That Lost
Its Way," "is It Hard to Guess?" "The Trous-
seau Incomplete" and "In Bokara, Miss O'Hara."
The music is published by M. Witmark & Sons.

MUSIC COMPANY REORGANIZED
The Eureka Music Co., publishers of music
and song books in Mena, Ark., has been re-
organized with J. W. VanHoy as president, to
succeed S. A. Oslin, and Frank Grammar as
general manager.
Jack Stern and Clarence Marks are the writ-
ers of three new songs, "No One,"- "Heaven
Is Like Dixie After All" and a novelty num-
ber entitled "She Knows It, Too."
The first two numbers have been accepted for
publication by M. Witmark & Sons and the
latter work is being published by Shapiro, Bern-
stein & Co., Inc.
Jack McCoy, who for the past two seasons
has been professional manager of Ered Fisher,
Inc., recently severed his connections with
that concern and it is understood he now plans
to enter the music publishing business. He
was succeeded by George Piantadosi.
