"CUBAN MOON" MUCH RECORDED
Sam Fox, of the Sam Fox Publishing Co.,
Cleveland, O., recently said ''that from all evi-
dence most music publishers believe in the
truth of the old saying that 'there is nothing
new under the sun' and proceeding on this
premise they rarely ever try to find anything
new or original. Almost every new publication
is compared with some other hit of the present
day or days gone by and in some instances new
numbers are given publicity referring to pre-
ceding ones. Once in a while, however, there
is discovered some original melody."
Such a number Mr. Fox believes is a new
song called "Amorita" which is described as
"not a second anything" or "only something
else." However, it is specifically described as
an original Spanish fox-trot. It is from the
pens of Messrs. Kerr and Zamecmk, wno art 1
the writers of "My Cairo Love." The number
is proving a very popular orchestra selection,
it having something of the swing of the ' Fan-
dango."
From present indications it would seem that
Mr. Fox has selected a number of much merii
and it may be that "Amorita" will be the fore-
runner of a series of new songs of different
style as the prevalent melodies of the seaso.i.
"Cuban Moon," one of the late publications
in the catalog of Jack Mills, Inc., is being re-
corded by a large number of talking machine
record and music roll manufacturing organiza-
tions. It is one of the most popular songs
of the present season according to all reports,
and is described as being a harmonious fox-trot
ballad. It was written by Joe McKiernan and
Norman Spencer, two San Francisco boys.
Irving Berlin, Inc., has just released a new
novelty number called "My Little Bimbo Down
on the Bamboo Isle."
Emil Bacher, of 46 Henion street, Dubuque,
la., is the publisher of a song entitled "The
Irish Lullaby." Words and music are by Mr.
Bacher.
