Music of "Tip Top" and "Kissing Time," Com-
posed by Ivan Caryll, Makes Notable Addition
to Catalog of This House—Three Latest Songs
of Robert Coningsby Clarke Also Published
According to reports from London, Hadyn
Wood, unquestionably one of England's finest
musicians, has again been inspired to compose
one of his appealing melodies and united with
Fred E. Weatherly in producing the song
"Fleurette, I Shall Never Forget."
Vocalists always have a warm spot in their
heart for Robert Coningsby Clarke, and Chap-
pell-Harms, Inc., are the publishers of his three
latest works, "Reaping," "Golden Dancing
Days" and "You in a Gondola." He must be
particularly remembered for his "Bowl of
Roses" and "The Blind Ploughman," which
have been featured by that prominent artist,
Reinald Werrenrath.
Chappell-Harms, Inc., are of the optimistic
opinion that "I'd Build a World in the Heart of
a Rose" will be another "Sunshine of Your
Smile." Their feature song, "Bells of St. Mary's,"
which was one of the biggest ballad successes
in England in recent years, is, without doubt,
gaining momentum in popularity in this country.
What is considered the most welcome addi-
tion to the catalog of Chappell-Harms, Inc.,
aside from their three big sellers, "I'd Build a
World in the Heart of a Rose," "Bells of St.
Mary's" and "On Miami Shore," the works of
Ivan Caryll, are two new musical comedy suc-
cesses, "Tip Top" and "Kissing Time." Both of
these are now playing New York to capacity
houses. In "Kissing Time" Caryll has given
the public a waltz song of the same name, which
from present indications will become equally as
popular as his famous "Beautiful Lady" waltz
from "The Pink Lady," which was produced
some seven or eight years ago and which still
has a sale.
As for "Tip Top," we can say that, as usual
with the Fred Stone shows, it will appear in

COMPOSERS' LEAGUE MEETING
Applicants for Membership Must Have Written
Song Which Has Sold at Least 20,000 Copies
The third meeting of the Composers and
Lyric Writers' Protective League of America
was held on Tuesday evening of last week at
Keen's Chop House, Forty-fourth street, New
York, and over 200 song writers were present.
The dues of the new organization were made
$10 annually and the initiation fee was placed
at $5. No concerted effort up to this time has
heen made to affiliate with the American Fed-
eration of Labor.
A constitution and by-laws were adopted.
Among other things it says that an applicant for
membership must be one who has written a
composition that has had a sale of a minimum
of 20,000 copies. A press committee composed
of Tommy Gray, Ballard McDonald and Rennold
Wolf was appointed to handle publicity for the
new organization.
