GETS INSPIRATION WHILE CAMPING

Byron Gay Works Up Ideas for Original Songs
While on Camping Tours
The man on the street has the impression
that song writers get their inspiration from
the Great White Lights of Broadway, and it is
probably true that they often do, but, after all,
inspiration comes from various sources, from
everywhere as it were.
Byron Gay, who does unusual things in the
composing line, finds a lot of his inspiration
in touring the country with his specially
equipped camping car. Recently he toured
through the State of Maine and spent some
time along the Penobscot River.
Byron Gay has been responsible or partly re-
sponsible for such numbers as "Sand Dunes,"
"The Vamp," "Oh!" and "Murder." While on
his recent trip he showed his versatility by
composing a beautiful ballad entitled "Near to
Your Heart," which its publisher, Leo Feist,
Inc., expects to release shortly.

Shapiro, Bernstein & Co., Inc., have just is-

In addition to its lyrics having a special appeal
the melody is already having unusual success as
