PUBLISHERS LIKE JAZZ KINGS
Popular Organization Meets With Approval of
Publishers and Dealers at Outing
Co-operation!

Jazz bands seem never to lose their popularity.
Each aggregation seems to have eccentricities of
rendition that give them greater favor. Among
such organizations which have taken a very
prominent position are "Al Epstein's Jazz Kings"
entertainers. They ar.e in popular demand and
are being booked at many functions in addition
to their more public performances.
At the recent outing of the Greater New York
Publishers' and Dealers' Association they were
the feature of the program and when it is con-
sidered that publishers and dealers are excel-
lent judges, even of jazz music, to say that the
band received a hearty reception speaks well
for their work.
Joe Gilbert, who plays the piano in this band,
is fast being recognized as a performer par
excellence.

SONG HIT IN VAUDEVILLE
An act at the California Theatre, San Fran-
cisco, last week was written around the song "In
Sweet September" and it proved to be one of the
most effective song-boosting stunts in many a
day. The title of the song, which is also the
name of the act, was advertised in advance on
the screens of the California-Portola-Imperial
theatres. The song is published by Waterson,
Berlin & Snyder.
