New Musical Comedy to Be Produced Based on
"The Man on the Box"
Win. Gary Duncan has adapted the well-
known book and play, "The Man on the Box,"
which was a great hit in bygone years, to a
musical show. He is collaborating with B. C.
Hilliam on the lyrics. Mr. Hilliam, who is
composer of the musical numbers in "Buddies"
as well as the soon to be produced "Princess
Virtue," will be responsible for the music of
the musicalized version of "The Man on the
Box," which will appear under the title of
"Home, James." M. Witmark & Sons will pub-
lish the music.

Jones Music Co. Conducting Drive on Number
by Anita Owen
The Jones Music Co., New York, which spe-
cializes in the publication of works from the pen
of Anita Owen, is making a big drive on the
new number "Alia." It apparently is having
more than the usual popularity, both as a song
and dance. "Alia" is issued with a very at-
tractive three-colored title page with a repro-
duction of Mme. Alia Nazimova, to whom the
number is dedicated.
Other numbers published by this concern
from the same writer's pen are "Tell It to the
World," a fox-trot ballad; "Land of My
Dreams," "Wander With Me to Loveland,"
"Don't Be Sad," and "Kiss Me Good-Bve."

NEW BELWIN NUMBERS
"The Marriage Blues" and Other Numbers in
Good Demand
Belwin, Inc., have a very unique number in
their new song, "The Marriage Blues." While
the lyrics are of the strictly comedy variety, the
music is most attractive, and it is proving a
popular dance selection. As a jazz number, it
is especially effective. * Other issues in this
firm's catalog are "Because You Say Good-Bye,"
a ballad; "Why" and "Madriola," a Spanish cne-
step.
