Standard Music Roll Co. Announces Improved
Type of SingA Word Roll, Containing Many
Features Which Will Appeal to Player Owners
William Knabe & Co., New York, received
this week an interesting letter from Charles
Dalmorcs, famous French tenor, expressing his
appreciation of the musical and educational
value of the Ampico reproducing piano. Mr.
Dalmores, who is a member of the Chicago
has long been an admirer of the Ampica repro-
ducing piano, and his letter praising the same
reads as follows:
"To observe the playing of great artists as
it were through a microscope is to me perhaps
the most enjoyable effect of the Ampico repro-

The Standard Music Roll Co., of Orange, N.
J., announces that commencing with the March
bulletin there will be a new and improved type
of SingA word roll. Among the features found
in the new SingA word rolls are larger and
stronger tubes, larger and better flanges, larger
boxes, more music and more attractive labels.
The change in the size of the tube is the re-
sult of scientific study. It is a well-known fact
that the greater the circumference, the greater
the leverage power on the outside of any re-
volving cylinder. The tube of the SingA word
roll has therefore been increased in diameter
with a view to giving it increased leverage so
that the retard pressure on the spool may be
sufficiently strong to insure an absolutely even
unrolling process.
The boxes have been considerably increased
in size, and a third chorus has been added to
the music cut on the roll. The labels outside
and inside are characterized by greater brilliance
than was formerly the case.
It is naturally expected that the new S'ngA
word rolls will gradually take over the demand
for the present SingA word roll, although for
some time the Standard Music Roll Co. w'.ll
continue to furnish the small size SingA roll
on titles previous to March listing at the old
prices, unless request is entered that particular
numbers be made up in the new way.
The SingA word roll is ably designed to meet
the great popular demand and undoubtedly will
considerably augment the already numerous
sales of the Standard Music Roll Co.

DUFRANNE PRAISES THE CAROLA SOLO INNER-PLAYER
CHICAGO, III., February 13.—When the history
of the Great War is written in the light of after

brave chapter. From France comes the follow-
