WASHINGTON, D. C, May 20.—Edwin Phillip
Mertes, St. Louis, Mo., was last week granted
Patent No. 1,264,673 for a cornet or trumpet
mouthpiece, the object of which is to construct
a simple mouthpiece that may be used with
either a cornet or trumpet, and one in which the
change can be quickly and effectively made by
an interchange of cups to suit the preference of
the performer.
