THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
JANUARY 12,
The
Importance
of a
GOOD
Piano
Plate
Piano plates must have the rigidity and strength to withstand the
great tension of the strings, not only when still but when in vibration.
The iron plate of the piano is the chief supporter of the strains im-
posed upon the structure by the strings. It is necessary that it
should be built so as to have absolute rigidity under these strains
and that it should be always capable of withstanding any others that
may by any chance be imposed upon it.
A quality plate is as necessary to a high grade
piano as a good foundation is to a good house.
We take care of this important matter in the following manner:
Materials—Nothing but the best grade of Vanadium pig iron
obtainable is used in a MAT A WAN Plate.
Workmanship—The MATAWAN Plate is made under the most
modern facilities by men with long years of experience in the art of
plate making.
Supervision—Personal supervision prevails in every department of
the well organized MATAWAN plant.
Result—The result is a plate of the highest quality with the prime
requisites—strength, accuracy, and durability of finish.
