to Recruits at Army Camps
C. Bruno & Son, Inc., 351 Fourth avenue,
New York, musical merchandise importers and
wholesalers, report a
very active demand
for their line of Saxo-
phones. The country-
wide vogue of the
jazz band, and the
formation of many
military bands has
acted as an impetus
to saxophone sales,
and the dealers are
preparing to take care
of an active fall de-
mand for this instru-
ment.
There are five saxo-
phone models which
are popular with the
dealers
and their

lustration is known
as a No. 139 soprano. It is a very recent model,
with an automatic octave key, and the dealers
handling the Bruno products state that it is one
of the most popular saxophones ever intro-
duced in the music trade field.
MARION, INO., September 24.—The Butler Music
Co., of this city, has received an order from
Lowell Kennett, now stationed at the army can-
tonment at Fort Shelby, Miss., for a shipment
of ukueles which are for the use of the sol-
diers in the camp. Mr. Kennett was formerly
connected with the Butler Music Co. for a num-
ber of years before entering the army, and since
his enlistment he has been teaching his fellow
soldiers how to play the ukulele, his instruction
having resulted in this order for instruments.
