WASHINGTON, 1). C, June 4.—Patent No.
1,228,222 was last week granted to Frederick
H. Little, Chicago, 111., for an electric switching
mechanism, which he has assigned to J. C.
Deagan, same place.
This invention relates to electric switches
and is of particular service when employed in
keyboard musical instruments having sound pro-
ducing devices that have electro-magnets for
effecting their operation and has for its object
the provision of improved switching mechanism
that is operable by the keys and whereby in-
jured switches may readily be removed and
replaced without dismounting the keys. The
importance of this invention will be appreciated
when it is understood that switches frequently
break down during a musical performance,
hitherto requiring much time in repair, whereas
by the device of the invention an injured switch
may be instantly replaced.
