It only needs co-operation between the music
trade and the school people. The former needs
musical stimulation for its business' sake, and
because a musical community is happier, more
orderly, cleaner and better than an unmusical
one. The latter need it because the schools wish
to fulfil their real mission of "education;" that is,
of drawing out the latent faculties of the people,
making them better Americans, and America a

W. J. KEELEY WRITES BOOKLET
President of Auto Pneumatic Action Co. Has
Just Issued Pocket Edition Which Will Be
Very Useful for Tuners and Repair Men
Wm. J. Keeley, president of the Auto Pneu-
matic Action Co., 619-629 West Fiftieth street,
New York, and an acknowledged authority on
player-piano and player action construction has
written and had copyrighted under his name a
pocket size booklet entitled: "Player-Piano
Pointers." The text is profusely illustrated, and
is written in simple language so that it may be
easily understood, and the different operations
and methods of regulating and repairing the
action are clearly explained.
In the Foreword Mr. Keeley states: "The
constant demand for information regarding the
care and adjustment of player-pianos which we
are daily receiving from all sections of the globe
has prompted us to write as concisely as pos-
sible a book containing all the information pos-
sible on the care and adjustment of the player-
piano.
"Many books and pamphlets have been pub-
lished by different men interested in the up-
building of the player-piano, but none of them
that we know of have given the tuners and re-
pairers the know how information they have
long craved for—how to get at the component
parts of the player and make the slight adjust-
ments that are necessary from the constant use
of the instrument.
"There are close on to one million player-
pianos throughout the country, and these in-
struments should be cleaned out and the bear-
ings oiled at least once a year. This refers to
every player-piano that is made. So in pub-
lishing this book we are trying to educate the
