MUSICIANS AS WELL AS DEALERS PRAISE MASTERTOUCH
Popularity of Action Manufactured by Staib-Abendschein Co. Has Grown to Such an Extent
That 150 Sets Are Being Produced Weekly—Simplicity of Regulation Pleases Tuners
Among recent letters which have been received
by the Staib-Abendschein Co., 134th street and
Brook avenue, New York, was one from Ralph
L. Harris, director of the Chestnut street Con-
servatory of Music, 5941 Chestnut street, Phila-
delphia, Pa. The letter contains but a few
words, but is a splendid tribute to the Master-
touch action and emphasizes conclusively a
musician's opinion regarding its efficiency. In
the letter Mr. Harris says: "Allow me to con-
gratulate you on the action you manufacture.
It is indeed properly named. It is thoroughly
a 'mastertouch.'" Letters of a similar nature
are being received daily by the company, ow-
ing to the fact that this action has been gain-
ing in popularity steadily since the first of the
year. It has not only been found satisfactory
by manufacturers who are using it in their
pianos, but also by dealers, tuners and musicians
who have either come in contact with it or have
played a piano in which it is installed.
One of the best proofs of the increasing pop-
ularity of the Mastertouch is that 150 actions
per week are now being produced at the Staib-
Abendschein factory, and several large con-
tracts for the actions for future delivery have

been recently closed. Although it took fifteen
years to bring this action to the point of per-
fection where it gave universal satisfaction, the
time, worry and expense have been consid-
ered well worth while by the officials of the
company. The actions are not only used in
the United States, but also in several foreign
countries, where they have been found most
satisfactory, owing to the special dampproofing

regulating screws being directly in front, they
are most accessible, and it does not necessitate
any straining of parts to regulate the action.
This is one reason why the company can claim
that the Mastertouch will stay in regulation
longer than the ordinary action, and will oper-

The Staib-Abendschein Co., which has been
in business over a quarter of
a century, has always borne
an enviable reputation for
the quality of its products.
Its efforts toward developing

untiring and consistent. In
the same way the methods
of manufacturing have been
maintained. All the wood
which is used in the con-
struction of the Mastertouch
is prepared in the woodwork-
ing plant of the company,
which is at Roscoe, N. Y.
This plant is equipped with
the very latest automatic ma-
chinery for cutting and
planing the wood, which is
taken from the land in the
i m m e d i a t e vicinity, and
therefore requires little han-
dling. Over two million
square feet of lumber is kept
on hand at all times, and
great care is given to the
seasoning of it before it is
used in the construction of
the Mastertouch. Most of
the wood is allowed to sea-
son for a period of three
years before it is used. At
the woodworking plant 60,-
000 feet of lumber can be in-
stalled at one time, a most
modern dry kiln being used
for this purpose. All action
