MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
WELFARE WORK AT STANDARD PLAYER ACTION PLANT
One of the latest innovations at the factory
has been the establishing of a hospital room in
of its large number of employes. The room is
placed on the sunny side of the building and
should anybody be taken suddenly ill during
the day every care will be given them.

From the reports just compiled by F. E. Her-
bert, head of the Herbert Co., Newark, N. J.,
it is evident that this year's business is quite in
excess of last year's. The figures so far show a
rational increase. "Even the month of May
to date has shown a good increase in not only
the amount of business, from a volume stand-
point, but the selling cost has been reduced.
By working in this manner, this company has
been enabled to maintain the same prices to
the dealers notwithstanding the cost of paper
has doubled and that the other supplies are
more in proportion," said Mr. Herbert.
Recently C. A. Bolduc, sales manager, made
a Western trip, during which time he advises
that he created sixty-nine new accounts for
Herbert music rolls. Treasurer Herbert, speak-
ing about his general policy of working said:
"We have made no attempt to cut the quality
of our products, notwithstanding by doing so
we could save considerable money. We have
built our reputation on the quality platform, and
intend to stay in this field. Everything we have
done has been consistent with trade ethics, and
our aim is to always be on the lookout to im-
prove the quality of our music rolls."
HIGH PRAISE FOR DANOUARD SCHOOL
A. F. Atkin, the well-known tuner and repair
man of Bowling Green, O., who recently gradu-
ated from the Danquard Player Action School,
endorses the course of the school as follows:
"I believe I can truly say that the time I spent
at the Danquard Player Action Sfchool was the
most satisfactory period of my life."
