STULTZ & BAUER GRANDS IN DEMAND
Player Orders Also Show Strong Increase Thus
Far This Year—Frederick Bauer on Trip
Frederick Bauer, president of Stultz & Bauer,
New York, accompanied by Mrs. Bauer, left
Monday for a trip through Pennsylvania, New
York State, and the surrounding territory. Be-
fore leaving, Mr. Bauer commented briefly upon
the firm's business for the first four months of
1916, stating that the sales totals to date are
well in advance of the corresponding period of
last year.
The increased demand for Stultz & Bauer
grands has kept this division of the factory
working to capacity, and player sales have also
shown a substantial gain over 1915. The new
Stultz & Bauer Dynachord is meeting with
popular favor, and the situation as a whole is
very gratifying to Mr. Bauer.
CUTTING OUT FRAUDS IN CLEVELAND
Counsel for Cleveland Music Trade Association
Compiling List of People Who Have Had
Their Instruments Repossessed in That City
CLEVELAND, O., April 24.—The campaign of the
piano dealers of this city to reduce as far as
possible the number of repossessions made
through the compilation of an official reposses-
sion list under the auspices of the Cleveland
Music Trades Association, is bearing fruit. Rex-
ford C. Hyre, counsel and assistant secretary of
the association, already has a list of seventy-five
people who have been forced to return instru-
ments purchased on instalments, and while in
many cases those who lost their instruments
could not be classed as dead beats, there are
nevertheless some who have managed to keep
a piano in the house most of the time for several
years by going to a new piano house- on each
occasion when the old piano was seized for non-
payment of instalments.
HELLENKAMP STORE REMODELED
April 24.—The piano store
of A. F. Hellenkamp has recently been remodeled
and is doing a thriving business. Mr. Hellen-
kamp and his son, Arthur Hellenkamp, who was
formerly in charge of the repair department of
the Steinway store in Louisville, Ky., have been
very busy lately installing Gulbransen-Dickinson
player actions in upright pianos. A full line
of pianos, players and talking machines is car-
ried by the store.
