CLARK GRANTED PLAYER PATENT.
(Special to The Review.)
WASHINGTON, D. C, March 7.—Patent No. 1,173,-
-• r )2 was last week granted to iMclville Clark, Chi-
cago, III., for securing means for striker pneu-
matics, which he has assigned to the Melville Clark
Piano Co., same place.
The purpose of this invention is to provide in an
auto-pneumatic piano playing mechanism means for
conveniently adjusting the stroke communicating
member of the striker pneumatic for accurate en-
gagement of the part of the piano action upon
which it is arranged to operate.
TRACKER=BAR ATTACHMENT PATENT
(Special to The Review. 1
WASHINGTON, D. C , March 7.—The Auto Pneu-
matic Action Co., New York, is the owner through
assignment by Thomas Danquard, same place, of
Patent No. 1,173,652, for an attachment for tracker-
bars. It is found in practice that when a tracker-bar
of an automatic playing instrument is provided
with perforations beyond the end of the range for
controlling certain operations there is danger, espe-
cially when playing from large rolls, that through
the fluttering of the paper or other causes the wind
will enter into one or more of the perforations and
thus at the wrong time cause an operation, such as
rerolling, restarting, stopping and the like. This is
particularly the case when rewinding because the
paper necessarily travels at a rapid rate.
The principal object of this invention is to pro-
vide a simple and convenient means for assuring
the contact of the sheet with the tracker-bar at the
ends no matter how fast or inaccurately it is trav-
eling.
