Anxious to Enroll More Dealers.
The membership committee of the Greater New
York Music Publishers and Dealers' Association is
once more striving to add to the already large mem-
bership of that organization and has arranged that
anyone making application before the next meet-
ing of the association, to be held in November, will
upon payment of five dollars be admitted to mem-
bership in the association, the live dollars covering
all dues up to February 1, 1916, and including two
dinners at the November and January meetings.
In regard to the present standing of the associ-
ation, S. Ernest Philpitt, chairman of the member-
ship committee, said:
"As we now have over ninety per cent, of all the
music publishers of any consequence in New York
City, we are particularly anxious to interest more
of the dealers, and while this association does not
attempt to correct any of the so-called evils of the
trade, being organized purely for social purposes
and good fellowship, we believe much would be ac-
complished if other dealers will take a more active
interest and become members of this purely local
and social organization, which would give them the
opportunity to become b.'tter acquainted with the
publishers, upon whom they are dependent for the
material which they are offering for sale.

"Around the Map," a musical globe trot, book and

Hawkes & Son were the original publishers of that
number, as well as "Nights of Gladness," "Valse

Harris in the Hawkes-Harris Music Co., Toronto,
Out. Frederick Harris will be better known as the
proprietor of the Frederick Harris Co., of London,
England, and many of the company's publications
