THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
NEW WRIGHT METAL PLAYER ACTION
Made Especially for Manufacturers of Medium
Grade Pianos.
The M. S. Wright Co., manufacturer of the pop-
ular Wright metal player action, has just placed
on the market a new metal action which will be
sold to manufacturers of medium grade pianos.
This action, the first model of .which is being
shown in the Eastern offices of the company, 437
Fifth avenue, New York, is easily distinguishable
from the original Wright action, as several fea-
tures in the latter action are not embodied in the
new action.
George H. Beverly, sales manager of the M. S.
Wright Co., states that the new metal action has
won general praise from all who have tested it,
as it contains many features which make a very-
favorable impression.

'Oh! Yes," he replied, he understood fully and
would so explain it to his people.
Fortunately, Mr. Allen understood Japanese, and
his surprise may be imagined when the lecturer
was explaining to the audience of the Million Yen
Moving Picture concern that "the next reel or
record gives a list of the different calls for fires
that take place in the foreign houses of Buddha.
The longer the song, the bigger the lire. The

Latest List of Rolls for the Various Types of
Peerless Automatic Pianos and Orchestrions.
The National Music Roll Co., of St. Johnsville,
N. Y., has issued its bulletin of special music rolls
for the current month, adapted to the various styles
of Peerless players, including the Cabaret and Sey-
'bold organ models, De Luxe, Photo-Orc'nestra, Elite,
Trio and other styles. The rolls for Peerless
styles "RR," Cabaret, F and V, and also for the
Seybold model contain ten tunes each. Four of
these are issued for the current month and contain
selections of the latest hits. The contents of one
of them will indicate the general tenor. This one
runs as follows: "I Want to Go Back to Michi-
gan," "Oh, My Love," "You're Here and I'm
•Here," "Baby Love," "Old Folks Rag," "That
Croony Melody," "Celebratin' Day in Tennessee,"
"Fido Is a Hot Dog Now,"' "Hanky I'anky," "i>y
the Beautiful Sea."
The rolls published for styles De Luxe, Arcadian,
Wisteria and Two-Unit photo orchestra also con-
tain ten tunes each, and so do rolls for the Elite
model. For styles "D," "DX," "DM," "DF" and
"A" the rolls are of five-tune length. All the
latest music is included on these rolls, and there is
a large variety of selections, the bulletin containing
twenty-four rolls of ten and five tune lengths.

asked for a selection of music suitable for mov-
ing picture houses. In this selection they found
one named Trinity Chimes. It is exceedingly diffi-
cult to translate into Japanese what this record
signifies, as there are no chimes of any sort in
Japan.
Mr. Allen found it impossible to explain to
the lecturer for the moving picture hall just what
the meaning of Trinity Chimes was, so he resorted

getting an order for the goods, filling -the order to
the satisfaction of the customer, getting the money
and completing the transaction to the profit and
pleasure of all parties concerned."

and the hells of Trinity Church are the best
known in the United States. This record gives
a correct imitation of these bells, as they call the
lire department to a fire in that section." The
Trinity bells are very old, but not so old as some
of the bells of Japan, as especially the bell at
Nara, which is 1,000 years old.
Mr. Allen further comments by saying, "the
poor mortals out here will have a strange idea
if they ever think twice, especially our mission-
aries, should they visit the movies, and listen to
the above explanation of the sacred Chimes of
Trinity." In the accompanying illustration a young
Japanese lady is seen playing an Autopiano.

formerly connected with the local headquarters of
Jacob Doll & Sons, has joined the sales staff of
