The unique position of piano leadership which the Steinway
piano occupies is universally conceded.
How has this world-wide reputation been gained?
The Steinway record, from the day the house was established,
has been one of original creation. New ideas, new principles, new
devices, evolved and developed by the Steinway family, have been
so distinct, as compared with other pianistic creations, that the
Steinway is placed upon a pedestal all its own.
The history of the Steinway piano shows that it is the knowing
how, the understanding how to use successfully the various materials
necessary to produce a perfect piano.
The Steinway is something more than a combination of woods,
metals and felts. There is about it a personality, an individuality,
a humanness which is characteristic and appealing. That is why
the Steinway leads!
