THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
xmerx
The Chickering piano has always been noted for its
peculiar sweetness and beautiful singing quality of tone.
The aim of its makers has been to produce a tone
in which quality should not be sacrificed to power.
That they have succeeded is admitted by all who have
come under the magic spell of the tone quality of the
Chickering piano, which is peculiarly individualistic and
appealing in its refined delicacy.
The Chickering tone has evoked the most lavish praise from leading
musicians of the world.
Its makers have been singularly honored at international expositions,
where the greatest honors have been accorded them. At the first great
World's Fair in London in 185 i they were awarded a gold medal and at
the Paris Exposition the Cross of the Legion of Honor—a most dis-
tinguished testimonial.
The total number of awards and medals awarded to the Chickering's
is one hundred and twenty-nine—a record unapproached by any other
piano producing house in the world.
The Chickering piano has always been a distinct favorite with the
elite of American society, and the Chickering of To-day by reason of its
splendid musical attributes fully maintains its old-time sway.
