THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
be a good seller and we have no hesitation in
recommending it to the trade. We look for-
ward with pleasure to receiving other songs
from the pen of the same talented little com-
poser, who is said to he a decidedly pretty and
vivacious product of Chicago.

A. S. Hardy, Uxbridge, Ont.—Your letter has
been referred to Hinds, Noble & Bldredge, who
no doubt have writen you ere this. We would
suggest the advisability of having Ontario
printed on your stationery, as there is more than
one Uxbridge in the United States.
E. R. G., Williamsburg.—We know nothing of
the firm in question save that they exist. If
they do not abide by the rates quoted in their
circulars, then you have the remedy in your own
hands.
R. Witherspoon.—We cannot say. Write to
A. H. Goetting, who will gladly give yon any
information you require. The address, Spring-
field, Mass., is sufficient. He will not supply 10-
cen't stoves, however.
R. Hamilton McLain—We cannot do better
than recommend to you Chas. K. Harris' excel-
lent little work "How to Write a Popular Song,"
published by Chas. K. Harris, 31 West 31st
street, New York. Not only does it fully answer
all your questions, but it gives a deal of valu-
able information besides. Price $1.00 net.

materially le?sens the labor which cannot be en-
tirely disassociated from the commencement of
a piano course. To the trade who are looking
for a mechanical teacher which is practical and
which they can conscientiously recommend to
their clientele, we can give them no better ad-
vice than to procure a copy of this royal road
to the mastery of music.

SPLENDID COMPOSITION FOR ORGAN.
The latest composition by Edwin H. Lemare,
former city organist of Pittsburg, Pa., is his
overture "The Schenley," opus. 49 (Novello,
Ewer & Co.). It was composed in Pittsburg in
1903, and dedicated to Victor Herbert. An or-
chestral version is also published, but knowing
Mr. Lemare's strong predilection for the organ
it is hard to say whether the original plan was
for organ or orchestra. At any rate, the present
version is an interesting and valuable work, one
of the most serious which Mr. Lemare has yet
produced, and one which stamps him as com-
poser of excellent merit. The overture is by no
means easy, but in the hands of a capable or-
ganist and with an instrument of fair resources,
it is a most effective number.
