ABOUT THE^ENEER TRADE.
TTIT I T* Purposes
What Some of the Leading Men Say Regard-
ing Trade Conditions—Business Is Showing
Improvement.
Piano and Organ Materials
Repairing Outfits
Confidence is an important factor in business,
and without it progress is impossible. Gradually
confidence is being restored, and this is quite
noticeable in the supply trade, for the piano
manufacturers are placing orders more freely
than during the past few months, and a better
feeling is manifest all around as to the future.
All believe better times are surely ahead and are
planning accordingly. Few veneer buyers vis-
ited the local market during the past week, but
they have ordered fairly liberally by mail, and in
addition have asked for samples and quotations.
The J. J. Bonneau Co. report that business is
quite active, and aside from shipping a carload
of mahogany lumber to the West the past week,
filled quite a few nice orders for several classes
of fine mahogany veneers. Encouraging reports
have also been received from several points, and
the outlook is most encouraging.
George Harper, of the firm of Harper & Sie-
mon, is making the rounds of the piano manu-
facturers in the Empire State and is sending in
quite a satisfactory business. He informs the
home office that most of the manufacturers are
planning to come to New York for the conven-
tion, and all are anticipating a most enjoyable
time. Convention week is an absorbing topic,
in fact, and from point of attendance should
be the largest and most important held in years.
Isaac Cole & Son never let their stock run low,
and this embraces all classes of fine piano veneer.
It's only a question of paying a visit to the sales-
rooms to find just what you want and at prices
always to conform with quality. In Circassian wal-
nut, domestic walnut, mahogany, satinwood, bird's^
eye maple—in fact, all the popular woods, the line
is always replete with stock suitable for the piano
manufacturer, and this means width and beau-
tifully mottled stock.
Louis G. Jones made several important ship-
ments of veneer the past week, and with re-
quests for samples and quotations coming in
feels that a change for the better has set in.
There is no disputing that the veneer business
has been flat for a month past, but with the gen-
eral revival among the piano manufacturers,
trade has improved and is expected to continue
from now on.

A PIANO REJUVENATOR
Which Is Popular With the Trade.
Uriah McClinchie is offering to the piano trade
a splendid piano polish and cleaning compound.
He is willing to stand or fall on the dealers' or
manufacturers' verdict. One trial order is in-
variably followed by a liberal order. It is well
liked for used and shopworn stock. Furthermore,
there is no grease or gum to show or catch dust,
and the surface is as smooth as if hand polished.
In fact it works like magic on wood surfaces and
fine cabinet woods. It is non-combustible, a most
important item to both manufacturer or dealer.
You are not obliged to place a big order; just
send for a sample to convince yourself what is
claimed for this par excellent compound. Sam-
ples and quotations for same in bottles and in
bulk cheerfully furnished upon application.
TO PREVENT MOTHS IN PIANOS.
An excellent preventative and exterminator for
moths in the felt of pianos is said to be camphor
gum, tied in cheesecloth and suspended inside
the instrument. Another remedy is a half cup
of turpentine, which, when left standing inside
the case for several days, will drive out the
moths.
