is not a mere "Talking Point" but a Necessity
HOW TO CONQUER DIFFICULTIES.
BILLINGS SPRING BRASS FLANGE CO., MILWAOKSE? u wi!?.
The man who "lies down" in life will have
plenty to walk over him, says some philosopher.
The fellow that meets difficulty and opposition
with a set jaw and a determination to conquer
will not only get there but get something infi-
nitely better than mere success. There are a
good many soldiers that are all right on the
parade ground, but when you put them up against
a real enemy in the field they crawl behind some-
thing or run. Difficulties are like enemies, show
a good front and they disappear, show them
your back and you are done for-. The history of
the success of men and nations is in the story
of how they met their difficulties. Your moral
muscle to-day is the sum total of the opposition
you have met and overcome; the lack of it is the
result of your "lying down" when you have come
face to face with a good muscle-trying obstacle.
There is nothing in the world like the exhilara-
tion of overcoming, unless it be the feeling that
you can handle something still more difficult.
Don't dodge difficulties if you want to be any-
thing. Make them the training ground of your
mind and spirit to give you that grip on your-
self and things that will make you above all a
man, whether success is yours or not.

ACTIVITY WITH STRAUCH BROS.
Booked the Largest Business for July and Au-
gust in the History of Their House.
Strauch Bros., manufacturers of piano actions,
etc., 22-30 Tenth avenue, are very busy; in fact,
to quote Albert T. Strauch, the firm have booked
the largest business for July and August delivery
in the history of the house. Usually there is a
lull during the summer, but the firm are running
the factory all week with no half holiday on
Saturday to keep up with orders. It's not a
boom, either, but a steady business, and gives
promise that the coming fall will be one of the
best seasons in the history of the piano indus-
try. Reports from various sections of the coun-
try also verify this and the manufacturers are
planning accordingly.
0. W. KELLY OFF TO EUROPE.
O. W. Kelly, president of the 0. S. Kelly Co.,
manufacturers of piano plates at Springfield, O.,
will sail on the "Carmania" from New York
Tuesday, July 16, for an extended tour of the
continent. Mr. Kelly will be accompanied by
Mrs. Kelly, his two daughters and Mr. and Mrs.
Charles W. Constantine. Mr. Constantine is a
director of the O. S. Kelly Co. The party will
visit London, Paris, Berlin and other points of
interest as fancy dictates.
Geo. Cole, of the firm of Isaac I. Cole & Son,
mahogany dealers, returned Monday last from a
pleasurable sojourn over the Fourth at Sharon
Springs, N. Y. Mrs. Cole accompanied him.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
