POPPENBERG ENLARGES STORE.
Geo. H. Poppenberg, the well-known dealer, of
Buffalo, N. Y., has leased the adjoining store to
his present quarters in Main street, and thrown
the two stores into one. This gives him a front-
age of sixty feet with a depth of over two hun-
dred.

move from his present quarters in Rutherford.

The new factory of the Melville Clark Piano
Co. at DeKalb is practically complete, a great
deal of the large amount of new machinery is in
place ready to be belted up, the dry kilns have
been started up and the mill room will be in
partial operation next month. The transferring
of the entire manufacturing activities to DeKalb
will, of course, be gradual, in order that no inter-
ruption to business may occur, but within sixty
or ninety days at the most the factory here will
be vacated entirely, and wholesale warerooms
and the general offices opened somewhere in the
Wabash avenue district. The company is meet-
ing with remarkable success with their new in-
terior player, the Apollo piano.
The only difficulty so far being the impossi-
bility of turning them out rapidly enough with-
out interfering with the manufacture of Apollo
players. This will all be remedied in the new
plant, however, and the big 88-note interior
player, will then be turned out as rapidly as
consistent with the extraordinary care bestowed
upon every instrument which is being sent out.
The Melville Clark pianos made a new record
last year, the production showing an increase of
about 25 per cent, over that of 3 903.
Chas. H. Wagener, vice-president of the Mel-
ville Clark Piano Co., is due here from London,
where he made some big deals for the house.
Tom Pletcher, whose excellent sales record since
he joined the company's staff a few months ago,
has greatly pleased Mr. Clark, was at headquar-
ters for a few days, but left Wednesday for
Michigan.

the Post Office Department has been compelled to
change the present form of domestic money or-
ders. Postmaster-General Wynne to-day issued
an order directing W. E. Cochran, purchasing
agent; E. F. Kimball, superintendent of the
money order system, and W. J. Vickery, the chief
inspector, to devise a new money order blank
to enable the department to guard against the
