Small Goods Men Busy Preparing for an Active

are of Large Size and for Instruments of
Good Quality.
Small goods handlers are either busy with the
rearrangement of their affairs for the new year,
or preparing the coming season's campaign. It
is evident, even at this early date, that business
will be of the most active nature. The orders
received by mail are of large size, and in range
of goods cover the entire line, the preference
showing careful discrimination and critical se-
lection, the bias being strongly toward the bet-
ter grades. An effort will doubtless be made to
introduce a questionable line of goods the com-
ing season, a departure that may mean much or
little; but those on the inside are disposed to
regard the attempt more in the light of assur-
ance than practical benefit, no matter whatever
the price may be quoted.
