THE COLUMBIA RECORDS.
A very large proportion of the Colum-
bia cylinder records, now being supplied
to dealers and customers, are put up in the
new felt-lined cartons. This carton is a
great improvement on the old one with its
cotton wrapping and oiled paper. Records
contained in the new cartoons are much
easier to handle and the change is greatly
appreciated by both dealers and users.
There are very few articles that can be
said to sell themselves, but the new Colum-
bia records, at twenty-five cents each, are
selling themselves at a rate that is surpris-
ing everybody engaged in the business.
JOSEPH MOCK RETURNS.
Joseph Mock, secretary of the Win. R.
Gratz Co., n East Twenty-second street,
returned early in the week from a lengthy
trip in the firm's interest. Mr. Mock, who
is an expert in his special line, with a wide
range of knowledge in the musical instru-
ment field and remarkable proficiency in
languages and foreign correspondence, met
with a gratifying reception at every stop-
ping place and secured many substantial
orders. Mr. Gratz, head of the firm, started
lor the West shortly after Mr. Mock's
return.
