ty which is to be inaugurated by Prof. Geo.
Philipp Wolfrum, of Heidelburg, who in Oc-

some of them the choir and the orchestra are

tain operatic light effects. The floor on which
the orchestra is placed is so arranged that it
can be lowered and raised at will. Professor
Wolfrum believes that chamber music, in par-
ticular, gains much in effectiveness if the
players are invisible to the audience. He will
give the hearers opportunities at his festival
