THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
34
Thibouville-Lamy & Co., the famous French
musical instrument makers, The Review has
received a new catalogue of the J. T. L.
band instruments, latest and highest grade.
This publication has been carefully pre-
pared in an artistic manner, with many illus-
trations. It is devoted especially to the
"Legion of Honor" style in instruments. The
firm pride themselves on the special merits
of instruments stamped with this distinc-
tive title.
The following statement explains fully
the firm's policy and plan:
"Take one of our newest quality instru-
ments—whatever instrument you play—
styled the 'Legion of Honor' and see for
yourself if you do not afterwards describe
it as 'your ideal.'
"In our search for perfection we have
discarded many time-worn styles of mech-
anisms . and adopted new principles, which
have led to the production of the improved
models which are listed and described in
this book. They are absolutely perfect in
tone, tune, workmanship, beauty of outline,
and elegance of appearance. The excellent
results attained by long and costly experi-
ments carried on at our Paris factory have
brought these instruments to so high a stand-
ard of excellence that we do not hesitate
to guarantee them against any defects in ma-
terials or workmanship for twelve years.
They surpass both in quality and fine work-
manship all the instruments on the market
to-day. But rather than tell it to you we
would prefer you to test them for yourself.
"The 'Legion of Honor' is the name by
which is designated the newest improved
quality of J. T. L. instruments. It is given
in recognition of the fact that Mr. A. Acou-
lon, general manager of the principal house
of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy & Co., Paris,
France, was recently decorated Chevalier of
the Legion of Honor, and to whose long and
patient efforts the firm owe this fine series
of new instruments."
The new catalogue, with its admirable
grouping of band pictures and single instru-
ments, as well as its business-like arange-
ments of descriptive matter, reflects great
credit op Mr. Duchatellier, under whose able
management the American branch of the
great Thibouville-Lamy business has grown
and prospered.
