At the factory of the Packard Co., Ft.
Wayne, Ind., there is a big increase in orders,
not only from domestic, but from European
trade centers. They are now preparing for
foreign shipment big orders for Hirsch &
Co., their agents in London, Eng., and Franz
Friebling, of Hamburg, the Packard repre-
sentative in that country. The Packard has
long been a favorite in musical centers in
Europe.
The "Bell Brand" Strings.
The "Bell Brand" strings, manufactured
by the National Musical String Co., New
Brunswick, N. J., are known to-day in almost
every part of the world. The merits of
these strings have been acclaimed by lead-
ing musicians in the professional and ama-
teur field. Their progress in popularity is
not a matter of chance but due entirely to
the substantial values embodied in these
products.
The National Musical String Co. have
made string production a constant study,
and the supremacy occupied at one time by
Europe in this particular department of the
industry has been successfully offset by the
labors of this progressive institution.
Christman Exporting.
Christman & Son report a great degree of
activity in both the wholesale and retail de-
partments of their business. Quite recently
they have been filling some large export or-
ders to South American countries, where the
Christman piano has a steadily increasing
list of admirers. Domestic trade is also ex-
cellent. The sterling merits of the Christ-
man piano seem to be winning a deserved
measure of recognition these days from good
judges of piano values everywhere.

During the past week the factory of the
Hobart M. Cable Co., Chicago, has been vis-
ited by a number of prominent musicians
and dealers, who have made a thorough ex-
amination and test of the new Hobart M.
Cable pianos. One and all have been enthu-
siastic regarding these instruments, and
speak most flatteringly of the beautiful scale
used therein—a scale which results in a tone
quality of rare carrying power and qual-
ity. In architecture these pianos are also
splendidly balanced and the ensemble is sat-
isfactory to a high degree. Orders, which
are coming in from all p a r s of the country,
are being booked in pretty lively fashion
for the Hobart M. Cable pianos, and the
factory is being tested to its capacity to get
instruments ready for shipment. Dealers in-
terested in a live instrument would do well
to correspond with the Hobart M. Cable Co.
if they have not been visited by their travel-
ing ambassadors, H. B. Morenus and E. E.
Walters.
Rohifing Co. Appreciative.
The Rohifing Sons Music Co. have sent
Chief Foley, of the Fire Department of Mil-
waukee, Wis., a check for $100, in recog-
nition of the department's services at the re-
cent fire.
